Sight & Sound Theatre has been reported to be the most visited attraction in all of Lancaster County…which is saying something!  In a region where the Amish and Mennonite cultures promote “simple”, “plain”, and “unassuming” behaviors, Sight & Sound stands in stark contrast, with a theatre that is nothing short of “Grand” and productions that are described as “epic”!

The slogan for Sight & Sound is, “Where the Bible Comes to Life”, and that’s the unifying theme of all the productions at Sight & Sound.  From their early beginnings they’ve told biblical stories in an entertaining way, incorporating impressive sets and live animals into the story to the amazement of their audience.

Sight & Sound’s initial “big success” came with “Noah”, where their ability to incorporate LOTS of live animals into the show established their unique trademark.  Their telling of “Joseph” had an extraordinarily long run in Lancaster due to its popularity.  “Jonah” was their latest success and managed to WOW audiences during its 1-year run, but finding unique ways to make you feel like you were truly under water and in the belly of a whale.  New productions are in the works, but they seem to do a good job of bringing the older shows back from time to time.

If you’re a fan of live, musical theater and enjoy seeing biblical stories being acted out, you should definitely get tickets.  Be sure to buy them in advance because shows sell out at this popular venue!
