Description:

Shy Cellars, Strasburg’s newest restaurant opened it’s doors on May 7th.  Owner Sherry Schie (prounced shy) shares her exuberant personality with all who visit Shy Cellars.  A deliciously upscale eatery with a warm friendly atmosphere, guests often comment, “we feel like we are eating at your home!”  The menu at Shy is fresh, ever changing, almost daily.  Sherry practices a farm-to-table, field-to-fork philosophy and she purchases locally as much  as possible.  A local butcher in Amish country, various farm fresh fruit and vegetable farms in the county and down the street at the Village Garden Bulk Food store.

Everything is fresh and homemade at Shy Cellar’s, there is no microwave in their kitchen!  And speaking of the kitchen, Shy Cellar’s has an open kitchen concept.  There is a big open area where diners can see everything that is going on in the kitchen from cooking to garnishing to serving!  Shy Cellars is an edible experience, Sherry stated, “it’s like dinner and a show” were the public can see what goes on in the kitchen.

In conjunction with Shy Cellar’s is White Velvet Desserts spearheaded by Tara, Sherry’s daughter.  Along with wedding cakes and various other dessert catering Tara and her staff create the most irresistible desserts  imaginable, you must save room for dessert.  Shy also has a wine tasting room featuring Ohio and world wines.  Looks like a vineyard and wine-making are in the future along with cooking classes and supper club so stop in don’t be Shy!

From the Author: I have personally enjoyed the edible experience at Shy Cellars, Chef Sherry and her staff out do themselves on a daily basis. From the moment you walk in the door you feel pampered and valued as a guest should feel. Sherry has a happy and uplifting personality that she shares with all, one cannot help but be in a good mood for the rest of the day after visiting Shy Cellars. Love, experience and attention to detail go into every meal that comes out of the kitchen. Stop in for your own culinary temptation!
