Ship to Shore is a family owned working lobster pound and fish market. The wharf’s history goes back to Civil War days and it has operated by many generations of owners. It is set in the picturesque harbor of Owls Head which is exactly what you envision a working fishing harbor to look like on the coast of Maine. Other than the small gift shop inside, there is nothing touristy here what so ever.
Ship to Shore sells primarily lobster to the public and will cook the lobster you pick out from their tanks on premise or pack for travel if you like. They also can ship live lobsters overnight across the continental US. In addition to lobsters they sell clams, mussels, crabs and scallops.
They are a seasonal operation and are open daily from May 1 through October 30: Monday – Saturday 10-5pm and Sunday 10-3pm. Call in advance from November 1 to April 30th as their hours vary.
