Hidden Valley now has a new meaning and it’s no longer salad dressing. It means the home of Saluti Cellars. As you pass through the monument wall entry gate and start down the long winding driveway your breath is taken away by the beauty Randy Rossi has created in his little valley. During your drive down to the tasting room you get glimpses of the vineyards, the pond, the lawn, and, off in the distance, the barn. When you get to Randy’s valley floor you drive up a small incline to the parking area adjacent to their home above the tasting room. The log cabin is massive and beautiful. The craftsmanship is remarkable. When descending the ramp to the tasting room you get the full impact of the magnificence of Randy’s and his wife, Tina’s, creation. You will want to stop and enjoy the view. It is their creation because the area was wooded like a forest at one point. The land had to be cleared and sculptured so the vines could be planted and the rest of the landscaping completed.
In the tasting room you will see a wonderful, cozy, cabin-like room with wine and the tasting bar. Great wines are poured for your pleasure: Sauvignon Blanc, Petite Syrah, “18 Hands”, Estate Syrah, “Capisce”, Reserve Petite Sirah, Muscat Canelli and “Vino Dolce” dessert wine ranging in price from $16 to $38 . Randy or Tina will gladly pour what you want Friday through Sunday 11:30am-5:30pm.

From the Author: Randy & Tina Rossi have become good friends with Lucinda and I. In fact they, another couple and us went on a cruise together a couple years ago. We frequent Saluti Cellars for lunch or just sipping wine on the patio looking at Randy's valley. I say Randy's valley because he moved the dirt and built everything so the valley is so beautiful. Yes, Tina did have a great part with the plants. Their "18 Hands" wine is a blend and is named in honor of Norman. Norman is Tina's Clydesdale. Of course Tina is about 5'2" so she doesn't even stand as tall as Norman's 18 hands at his shoulder. Shortly after they got Norman they acquired a goat to help keep Norman calm. He played with Norman and the visitors to the tasting room have enjoyed watching both in the vineyard areas. One day they were surprised after they woke up by the sound of little goats. So HE gave Tina & Randy a gift of several other goats to play with Norman.
