Description:
Peter and Eliza Little built the Rosalie mansion in 1823 on the bluff just north of the location of the area’s first important structure, Fort Rosalie, that was built by the French in 1716 during the city’s founding. They lived here for about 30 years before both he and his wife died with just a short period between them. The Wilson family obtained the home as a gift a few years later and heirs lived here until the last daughters passed in the mid 1900’s; after which, by agreement, the Daughters of the American Revolution obtained the title. The last Wilson daughters have reportedly been sighted roaming the halls.
