Located right next to the Martha’s Vineyard ferry terminal in Woods Hole, Quicks Hole Tavern is a new farm-to-table restaurant and bar on two floors overlooking the harbor.  Known for it’s burgers, gourmet grilled cheese and cheese/charcuterie boards, Quicks Hole Tavern also boasts a great craft beer list, killer cocktails and excellent wines.

Catching a ferry?  Try the pub menu on the first floor bar area with quicker items for the beer and a bite crowd.  With a little more time to spare, consider the second floor dining room with it’s amazing views over the ferry terminal and all of Woods Hole harbor.  Best sellers include an appetizer called “pig candy” which is maple roasted pork shoulder on a puree of guava and apple with a touch of celery sprout to finish, Jonah crab cake, lemon sole with cous cous, flat iron streak and chocolate braised short ribs that melt in your mouth.

Quicks Hole’s quahog chowder was named one of the “top ten quahog chowders” on Cape Cod by the readers of the Cape Cod Times for the second year in a row this season.

This new restaurant was thoroughly renovated in the winter of 2014 (replacing the old “Leeside”)  with a nautical theme including plenty of white paint, a rowboat suspended in the rafters and model boats.  History buffs will enjoy the over-sized black and white photos showing Woods Hole in the 1890’s as well as the Woods Hole Oceanographic research vessel “Atlantis” mounted next to a scrap of this famous ship’s wooden mast.
