Pere Marquette State Park, located in the scenic river town of Grafton, Illinois, consists of more than 8,000 acres of magnificent scenery. There are endless options for visitors to the park: hiking, camping, biking, fishing, and even horseback riding!

RV campsites have electrical hook-up, sanitary dump stations, drinking water, and a shower building. Tent camping is also available and includes shower building access as well.

Horseback riding is available from mid-April through October 30th. The stables are located just 1 mile east of the main park entrance. Children eight years and up are allowed to ride their own horses. Generally there are ten  horses available. The stables are open Wednesday through Monday during the six-month season. Experience the past and bask in the scenic beauty of the site of the historic landing of Jacques Marquette in 1673. The park’s Visitors Center features displays that encompass the region’s history and the types of environments that can be encountered at the park. It also provides informative and interpretative programs.
