Description:

When it comes to convenience stores, the Old Village Store has a lot more to brag about than being a handy source of milk, eggs, and bread for the residents and visitors of West Barnstable, MA. In continuous operation for more than 140 years, the store is located next door to the village train depot and served as one of the historic location shoots for the period piece movie entitled “The Lightkeepers” starring Richard Dreyfuss and Blythe Danner in 2008.

Although the store has seen its share of changes in its long history, one thing remains constant: its commitment to offering a variety of locally sourced products. Other standards include an array of convenience items, beer and wine, beach gear, snacks, sundries, and coffee.

Due to their reputation for creating delicious deli sandwiches there is often a line of summer beach goers waiting to pick up the perfect accompaniment for a day spent at nearby Sandy Neck, one of the Cape’s most popular beaches.
