The Old Natchez city jail was erected in 1891, and is still in use as city offices, though not for housing prisoners.

The old jail is reportedly haunted, which should not surprise anyone, as the Old City Hanging Tree pictured above is only a short walk up the street to the current City Hall. Note the large barred windows of the jail in the picture above.
