One of the best ways to experience Lake Superior is by riding the North Shore Scenic Railroad. From Duluth to Two Harbors the railroad rides the rails along Lake Superior for 28 miles and it is some of the most beautiful scenery you may ever see! During May through October you can choose from a variety of train experiences. For an additional cost you can tour the extensive Railroad Museum at The Depot. You could spend the whole day riding and learning about trains!

Most of the train rides are short rides but you can reserve a 30 mile excursion to Two Harbors, Minnesota which takes a full day on the weekend. The ride includes touring, lunch and a great train experience in a historic train car. Another option is a ride on the Duluth Zephyr which now offers a first class option. If the kids are along maybe the pizza or music train will be the train ride you will enjoy!
