Misty Creek Dairy is owned by an Amish family who are known for making the best raw goat cheddar cheese around. I’m not sure why that distinction is made about the “Cheddar Cheese”, because ALL their cheeses are very tasty, and available for you to sample to your heart’s content!
The shop is open from Monday – Saturday from 8am-6pm. Right next to the cheese shop you can walk around the barn and peer into the milking area, to see the actual goats that the delicious cheese you’re tasting came from. Amos Miller, the owner, makes all RAW milk cheeses, that are organic and chemical free.
Amos’ cheese making skills have become recognized by a number of top chefs in Lancaster County and beyond! Even though he has a very small operation, you can find Misty Creek Cheese everywhere from Reading Terminal market in Philadelphia, to Ma(i)son Restaurant in Lancaster. He was even discovered by Chef Emeril!!
