Enjoy a two hour cruise on the Erie Canal with the local history and folk lore narrated by your boat’s pilot.  Join in singing the little ditties sung by those who walked their donkeys along the shore pulling the barges.  Glide past many historic sites,  including the original five locks.  Learn how young boys assisted in placing the dynamite that cleared the rock to create the canal banks.  See the up-side-down bridge that spans the canal.  Sail under the widest overpass spanning the canal.  Experience being raised and lowered 50 feet in the only double set of locks on the canal.

While the cruises are seasonal, the building is open year round for your enjoyment.  There is even a small gift shop with everything from books about the canal to shot glasses and sweatshirts, post cards and small items for the younger members of your group.
