The ReFresh Café and Coffee Bar is a project of Liberty’s Kitchen, a remarkable local community benefit organization that supports New Orleans youth in achieving self-sufficiency, employment, and economic independence. Youth are trained in culinary and customer service skills so they can enter and succeed in the  hospitality business— an industry that drives much of the New Orleans travel and tourism economy. In addition to helping youth to learn life skills and marketable restaurant skills, Liberty’s Kitchen also helps them with resume building, mock interviews, job search and placement.

The ReFresh Project includes Liberty’s Kitchen headquarters, the delicious and convenient Café and Coffee Bar, a Whole Foods Market, Tulane University’s Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine, the ReFresh Farm, and Starbucks. This groundbreaking ‘Fresh Food Hub’ serves as a training hub for youth — and as a unique social enterprise that impacts the  community. All proceeds from ReFresh Café and Coffee Bar food and beverage service go directly to support Liberty’s Kitchen program which helps youth to build confidence, improve communication skills, solve problems and develop successful workplace habits.

Liberty’s Kitchen Café and Coffee House is open for breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and Saturday for breakfast and beverages from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. In the morning, grab a delicious pastry like the hearty and healthy Morning Glory loaf bread —or swing by for a weekday lunch and try a New Orleans specialty, the Muffuletta sandwich made with salami, ham, provolone cheese, olive salad and sun-dried tomato pesto on fresh Rosemary Focaccia bread.
