Lewis & Clark State Historic Site and Interpretive Center opened in 2002 to commemorate the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Site was established south of the actual site of Camp River Dubois in Hardin, Illnois, which was home to the Lewis and Clark Expedition during the months from December 1803 to May 1804. Camp Dubois is National Trail Site #1 on the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.

Lewis & Clark State Historic Site showcases a realistic outdoor replica of Camp River Dubois, and much more. Be sure to visit the 14,000 square foot interpretive center, which houses a theatre, numerous interactive exhibits, and a 55-foot full-scale cutaway keelboat.

Experience for yourself the rich history behind the Lewis & Clark Expedition with a visit to historic Camp River Dubois.
