Our favorite place to eat out is the Lemongrass. There are a dozen Thai restaurants in town, but this one seems busy each time we visit. It’s no wonder; the extensive menu is filled with a wide variety of dishes, and every dish I’ve tried has been great. My husband consistently orders any one of the curry dishes; he’s never had a bad one. The wait staff provides gracious, friendly, and prompt service.

The owners support local businesses (perhaps one of the other reasons for its popularity), and strives to use fresh ingredients when available. In addition, they partner with one of several organic farms, Calypso, to educate and fund-raise for schools and the community.

This is one of the few Thai places that actually has ambiance. There are bamboo wall hangings, instruments, and plants. Other Thai restaurants around town may have good food, but if you are looking for a great place to sit down, relax and enjoy your eating experience, this is one of the best places for Thai in Fairbanks.
