This charming and elegant tea room overlooks historic Ridgeway, just a short drive to Camden, and features vintage furniture, fragrant teas, beautiful tables, fine china and local art work. The beautifully appointed tables seat two to six people. From arrival to departure, you will be transported into another era where you will enjoy a true tea experience. Iced tea and hot tea are both served. A typical tea tower includes scones and cream, petite finger sandwiches, chocolate dipped fresh orange slices or strawberries, and other homemade sweets. In addition, to offering a beautiful tea, Laura’s also hosts special events and guest speakers.

Hats are optional (ball caps are not hats)! As you ascent to the Tea Room there is a whole array of hats from which you can select one that perfectly matches your personality.

The amazing building began as the I.C. Thomas Company by Isaac Thomas in 1885 — it was a general mercantile. Today, the brick building is owned by a fourth generation member of the Thomas Family. The name of the tea room is to honor the last family member, Mrs. Laura Thomas, who operated the store. She was also Mayor of Ridgeway.

Upon arrival, you enter on street level into the General Store/Shop which is overflowing with anything but the ordinary. You will find aprons, tea cups, dollhouses, lotions, soaps and so much more. And the dry tea offerings are extensive. This is the perfect place for interesting and unique gift shopping. The Coffee Shop Deli is also located on this level. Grama’s homemade baked goodies can be purchased in this area. Of course, you will see much of her work on the tea towers.
