This small outstanding restaurant has a professional photographer as its chef so you know each item is a work of art! Not only are the soups unique and sooo tasty, the homemade bread to dip into the home made spicy sauces and freshly grated cheeses dips nicely into the soup.
A small selection of dishes because each item is freshly prepared and cooked to order. Among my favorites are pasta with shaved truffles! Now who would think you would find a dish like this in the mountains of Appalachia? This is a place where the locals who enjoy fine food come for special occasions and also just when we want a fine meal. They often bring a bottle of wine from our local Watauga Lake Winery to enjoy with their meal.
Matteo has been home to Italy for a couple of months and has brought back some new items Come in and try them. You won’t be disappointed. I was getting tired of my own cooking!

From the Author: This is my "go to" restaurant when I want an outstanding meal and in the nice weather it's great to be able to sit outside and see the sun play hide and seek with the mountains and the clouds. The owner, Matteo, in a former life, was a photographer and teacher. His work is on display on the walls of the restaurant. I usually let Matteo choose what to serve me....easier than trying to decide!
