JoBoy’s Brew Pub (name is the combo of the owner’s middle names) specializes in serving up Carolina-style BBQ along with craft beers, brewed on sight.  The pub is open Tuesday – Thursday:  11 am – 9 pm, Friday & Saturday: 11 am – 10 pm and Sunday: 11 am – 8 pm.  Closed Monday.

What started out as a competition BBQ team, became the inspiration for this wonderfully delicious restaurant and pub.  The owners, Jeff & Jo Harless, are passionate about serving up GREAT BBQ that you simply can’t get anywhere in the area, and they do it in a friendly, cozy environment.

The menu has expanded since their very early days back in 2010 when they first opened.  Since then they’ve hired a well known local chef who has helped them expand the menu while sticking to JoBoy’s roots.  So in addition to mouth-watering ribs, tender chicken and well-seasoned smoky pork, you can try some French-inspired dishes like fried pork bellies and stuffed pork loin.

While the main dishes are delicious, don’t discount the sides, especially the spicy, vinegar-based cole slaw that’s an instant favorite of all who try it!  I also LOVE their homemade BBQ sauces (available for sale), especially the one they mix with vinegar that tastes GREAT over french fries!

And despite my focus on the BBQ so far, the beer these guys brew is equally awesome!  My favorite is Hopitude (an American IPA), but they have 11 different beers on tap, and if you’re a beer lover, you should definitely try the sampler!
