First opened up in 1929 and owned by the Bieber Family, the Indian Echo Caverns were then purchased by the Swartz Family in 1942 and still remains in their family today.

Indian Echo Caverns are a limestone cave featuring a constant temperature of 52 degrees year around. There is something for everyone to do from picnic areas, playground, gift shop, and petting zoo and of course the cavern itself. It’s a great place to take your family for an amazing cave experience.

$14.00 Adults, 12 and over
$12.00 Seniors,62 and over
$8.00 Children 3-11
Free for children less than 2 yrs old

On your arrival, you will step down 72 steps to the entrance by the river which is a fantastic view, then enter the caverns and have a guide meet you for a hour long tour. At one point during the tour, they turn out the lights and you will be amazed to discover you can’t even see your own hand since it is so dark. But don’t be scared, it is a lot of fun. I took my two year old granddaughter on the tour and she loved it, she even picked out one of forms that looked like a dinosaur, everyone laughed and said “great job”!

From the Author: The temperature is nice, especially on a hot summer day. Try not to miss this nearby attraction while in Hershey, it is well worth it.
