What began as a 3 1/2-acre “nice garden of roses” in 1937, has blossomed into the 23-acre land of enchantment it is today. Guests can plan their visit to coincide with what is in bloom in a particular season … a great help if you have a favorite or favorites.
An oasis in the midst of the everyday, the Gardens attract thousands of visitors to learn and see and sniff and listen. All senses are awakened by the varied offerings. There is a Butterfly House (the most popular attraction), Children’s Garden, for the rose enthusiast is the Historic Hershey Rose Garden, and gardens within gardens. Truly, there is something for everyone here.
The Garden Gate Cafe offers light fare in season. The Gift Shop features all things related to gardening: books, jewelry, statuary and gardening accessories.
Some interesting things to note: Service dogs are permitted. The Gardens are wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
From the Author: A beautiful place to walk! They do Beer Fest in the Spring and Wine and roses late Spring. Most of the Roses in the Gardens are in full bloom late spring and late summer.
