Sherrie and Jim Everhart own this winery on lovely grounds right near the South Fork American River in Coloma. Their winemaker Dominic Mantei produces some of the best, award-winning wines of the area. The Everharts own vineyards in nearby Pilot Hill, and Dominic makes small batches of excellent reds, whites, and dessert wines from these handpicked fruits, combined with grapes from other area vineyards. They offer wine tasting on Thursday-Sunday, 11:30am-5:30pm. The fee of $5 is waived with any wine purchase, and they rarely end up charging a fee! Their tasting room has a gift shop featuring local products like jams and olive oils, as well as wine-related gifts and local jewelry and art.

Hart2Hart often has free events open to everyone. Some feature food, like soups and wine pairings. Others feature crafts and local artists. They also have winemaker dinners – see their website for upcoming dinners. Every few months they have barrel-tastings with the winemaker, and fun events like “blend your own wine.”

Hart2Hart is located right next to hiking trails in the Sierra Foothills, some of which go to all the way the river. It’s a great place to pick up wine for a picnic lunch during a hike. It’s also a great place to stop and enjoy after a hike, ride, or rafting trip.
