On the shore of the largest great lake–Lake Superior–in the city of Duluth Minnesota is the Great Lakes Aquarium. A unique-designed building is home to an interesting and fun discovery center where you can explore the animals, birds and habitats found in and around the Great Lakes Basin.
The animals on exhibit include amphibians, birds, many varieties of fish, invertebrates, otters, and reptiles. The daily schedule at the aquarium often includes scuba divers in the Isle Royale tank feeding the fish, the river otter program, shark tank feeding, snapping turtle creature feature and the St. Louis River Exhibit. The Great Lakes Aquarium is a great family adventure with lots of hands-on activities to keep everyone interested and makes for a great learning experience.
The Great Lakes Aquarium is open every day except Christmas Day and tickets are sold from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $16.50 for adults, Seniors (62 and older) $13.50, Youth (13-17) $12.50, children (3-12) $10.50 and children under 2 years of age are free. There are group rates available and an Aquarium membership for more savings. Parking is available in the aquarium lot for $5.
