Over fifty local artists display their hand-made paintings, jewelry, photography, ceramics, glass works, textile and fabric pieces, and other 2D and 3D art here every day. The store is on historic Main Street in Placerville. They are open 10am-5pm daily, and 10am-9pm during Placerville ArtWalk, the third Saturday of each month. The gallery often stays open later on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer. It’s a gorgeous space with lots of light to show off the textures and colors of the original artwork. Smaller pieces and cards are for sale too.

Several artists are always on hand to describe their works and provide information on the gallery. It’s a warm, colorful, and hospitable space that was founded in 1992 and is still going strong. Gold Country Artists Gallery is a great way to find local artists who can create their pieces in different sizes for you, or create something new that is exactly to your liking. And it feels good to support them – as a co-op, all the money goes to the artists, and the local causes they support, like art education and the local Food Bank.
