Home to The Hershey Bears and The Harrisburg Stampede, this events and concert venue boasts a total of 306,000 total square feet in the main area. The Center opened mid-October 2002 and can seat 10,000-12,500 depending on the event. Seating and restrooms are available to guests with disabilities. Parking is available for 10,000 vehicles.
Concession stands can be found at various locations inside the center. A wide variety of foods is available from standard hot dogs and fries, to healthier soup and salad options. Coffee, tea, soda, hot chocolate and bottled water are offered at all concessions; beer at most.
For sports fans, Hershey Sports is located inside the main concourse. The shop offers an array of Bears sports memorabilia and clothing. Washington Capitals items are also sold here.
Giant Center has hosted many sporting events, concerts, family shows and trade shows.Some interesting facts to note: The first sporting event held at Giant was a Hershey Bears hockey game, while the first concert was Cher’s “Living Proof – The Farewell Tour”.
From the Author: The Giant Center is a great venue, besides the Hershey Bears you will see star studded performances, RV Show, Antique Auto Show, Family events and many other special events. I have been here many times for concerts, the Hershey Bears game, RV Show and other attractions.
