It’s hard in today’s grocery stores to find the “honest” companies and brands that truly stand for good, organic food. And often times, for more conscious consumers, extremely frustrating. What if I told you that Savannah has her own little gem right in the Historic District on the south side of Forsyth Park? And even better, right next to the awesome Sentient Bean Coffee Shop?! That’s right! The Brighter Day Grocery Store has been standing for the fight against GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms or ingredients) in their merchandise since they first opened in 1978.

Everyone on staff is extremely knowledgeable about the products they carry and exceptionally friendly. On top of everything in the store being 100% organic, they even have their own deli and juice stand open Monday through Saturday from 11 to 4pm. Everything in the deli is made on site that day and they also offer a wide variety of gluten and soy-free, vegetarian, and vegans options as well (their avocado cheese sandwiches and homemade desserts being some of their biggest crowd pleasers).

For those of you on a raw, juicer diet; put that juicer away and stop worrying! Brighter Day’s signature juices at the deli/juice bar are TO DIE FOR. This author’s personal favorite happens to be the Peter Rabbit (a pressed carrot juice YUM.) And of course, Brighter Day is always looking to find ways to lessen their carbon footprint by supporting the local farmers- making their organic produce section one of the most fresh and versatile on this side of the District. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL: On top of everything previously mentioned above this wonderful store they also devote at least a quarter of the store solely to organic vitamins! So come on down to Savannah and stop by Brighter Day- you won’t be disappointed!
