Big Mill Bed and Breakfast sits amid ninety-year old pecan trees in eastern North Carolina, 100 miles east of Raleigh and 100 miles south of Norfolk. It is still a working family farm and the feeling is unchanged.
There are two rooms in the main house: the Mardi Gras Suite and the Caribbean Room. Each has its own private entrance. In the renovated Pack House there are three suites: the Pack House Suite, the Corn Crib and the Mule Room Suite, each with private entrances and kitchens. Every room overlooks the 3 acre lake; and the fishing is great. You don’t you even need a license.
We have won awards for being Eco-friendly and green…we have been green for generations. Big Mill is truly a laid-back experience that makes one want to go back to the roots of their heritage. This Carolina B&B near Greenville offers the best of the NC countryside, right outside your door.
We hope you will join us for privacy, legacy and just a chance to escape the madness of the city. Mind you, you will not be giving up any conveniences.
From the Author: I was born in the house that is now Big Mill and this is where I grew up, fishing and playing all over the farm. The outbuildings are still here, they just have different jobs. I love it when guests wander around the farm and imagine what life was like. In summer our orchard produces berries and fruit and my favorite night-blooming flowers. In winter guests sit in the barn by the fireplace.
