The Belvedere Restaurant in Lancaster City is well worth a visit when you are in downtown Lancaster. For local residents, if you haven’t been here yet, be sure to add it to your list of “must do’s”. The food is excellent and served with a look of enticement and eye appeal. The food selections are very creative and with a good variety of entrée choices.

The restaurant is located inside a former mansion built in 1876 for a local plantation owner. It is a stately Victorian home beautifully restored into a fabulous restaurant. It is beautifully decorated with a fireplace at one end of the dining room and large over-sized mirrors that grace some of the areas to add light to the hardwood on the walls. It is a very elegant place, classy and upscale.

The service is top notch – servers are well informed and have daily specials with several to choose from. They use fresh local produce as well as excellent wines from the Waltz vineyards which are located in the county. One specialty salad is the chargrilled romaine lettuce with thick succulent Caesar dressing. Savory meals, reasonable prices – you must try it.
