Description:

WE WILL SELL OUT!!! is spelled out in caps on the bottom of the first page of their website. Truer words were never spoken!

Aptos St. Barbecue may have a giant smoker in the parking lot fired up by 6:30 every morning smoking, but there never seems to be enough for the barbecue hounds. They come from near and far for that succulent pork, beef or chicken; everything cooked fresh daily.

Their minimalist website promises barbecue, beer (38 craft beers, wine and soft drinks as well) and blues. They do not disappoint for any of the three.

The menu includes a barbecue variety of ribs, both beef and pork, pulled pork, chicken and sides of beans and various salads.

The favorite is the pulled pork. You will want to try the ‘hog wash’ vinegar based sauce on the pulled pork. It is smoky and sweet, a balance of mesquite and hickory. The only “down-side” is they may run out of the most popular items, (especially the pulled pork). The “upside” is that you can call ahead and reserve your special favorite! They will save it for you to go, or eat in.

Aptos St. Barbecue is just across the old railroad track in tiny Aptos Village. It’s a casual atmosphere with a cute stage. The decor is kitchy, tables covered in plastic gingham of red, yellow and blue, resembling some kind of backyard BBQ. With curtains hanging from clothespins on the window and chairs of many hues pulled up to tables, inside and outside; it is the place to be on a sunny, or any day for lunch, or dinner.

Come on a Friday, for the once a week, brisket special. It is brisket that has been slooooow cooooked and melts in your mouth.

Check out their Facebook page to see new craft brews being introduced, many times by the Brewmaster himself. Aptos St currently offers 38 beers on tap and will let you sample a few to find the one you like best.

Nightly live blues acts from 6-8pm, brings in blues fans. Some regulars play the same night every week. Dates for some blues musicians from out of the area are featured on Aptos St Facebook so you can plan a visit to catch them when they are playing .

If you come to Aptos St for the three B’s; barbecue, beer and blues you will be well satisfied every time.
