Description:

It is a tradition in our family that the celebration begins with birthday breakfast and so it was that we found ourselves at Another Broken Egg Cafe in Asheville’s Biltmore Park area. It is a relatively new place for Asheville and though it is a chain having locations in 13 states we found ourselves well pleased with this fine cafe. It offers both breakfast and lunch service. Mon-Sunday opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 2 p.m. No Thanksgiving or Christmas dining.

The location is part of a shopping center strip area but the decor inside belies that rather inauspicious vision. It is clean, bright with really nice natural light provided by large glass store front. There are both booths and tables done in wood and copper creating a cheerful and welcoming environment. Service at this cafe was joyfully rendered by the ever so capable Nicholas thoroughly amazing us with his full understanding of the menu and his ability to keep straight and deliver our menu choices to the table putting nothing but his memory to work. Wait staff can make or break a dining experience and Nick is an asset to this lovely cafe and to each guest experiencing his joie de vivre and sincere desire to add joy value to your dining experience there.

For breakfast, every available permutation of eggs or omelets known to mankind including but not limited to Eggs Benedict was available.

For those preferring to start the day with some sweet thing, your ship has come in. Cinnamon Roll French Toast is a thing apart and if that won’t rock your world, try the Sweet Potato Pancakes or Belgium Waffle on for size.

My horrible little confession is that when Nicholas brought our food to the table all of us descended in such a hurry that I neglected to allow my breakfast the photo opportunity it so deserved. Fortunately for our readers, the manager of Another Broken Egg arrived at the table to check on us and mentioned he was soon to be sitting down to enjoy his lunch. We asked to photograph what looked to be his very lovely lunch burger. Salads and sandwiches are available as well and everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked fresh, yummy, well plated and perfectly delicious as well as quite capable of providing a really nice experience in dining.

From the Author: If you find yourself south of Asheville some day yearning for a grand breakfast or a fine sandwich served in lovely environs by courteous and knowledgeable staff, you could do no better than Another Broken Egg Cafe.
