Open daily from Labor Day Weekend to 3PM Christmas Eve, this amazing Apple Hill farmstand, bake shop, gift shop, dining area, and kids play area has been open since 1976. Evelyn Abel and her son Kevin Ames run this bustling seasonal plce. Every detail of their fresh made apple pies and smoothly running pony rides is proof of Evelyn’s motto, “I love what I do.” Apple Hill is a treasure. It is a collection of over 50 ranches and farms that banded together to become something much bigger than the parts. Abel’s Acres is in a prime location, at the corner of Carson Road and Hassler. It is great for all ages. Kids have a large fenced-in area to play in. They can ride gentle horses, get their face painted, and ages 5 and under can play in the safe “Kiddy Corral.” Upstairs in the main shop, there are cookbooks made for kids and adults, as well as a variety of books, cards, and gifts for all ages.

You can’t leave without eating something wonderful. Their homemade fudge melts in your mouth and they make a variety of other candies and beautiful caramel apples too. When it’s busy, you can see them baking all kinds of apple items like pies, fritters, donuts, and crisps. You can take a home baked or frozen pie, as well as apple butter, applesauce, local honey and juices. It’s a great stop for lunch, with BBQ and burgers sold on the deck out back, overlooking a beautiful view of orchards.
