Where do you Live? Barnegat Light, Long Beach Island, NJ

Why did you choose the city / state you now live in? The charm and romance of a small town where everyone knew who you were within a few days of arrival appealed to me then and still does after all these years.
What do you love most about where you live? I love my views including; amazing sunsets over the bay painting the sky with magnificent colors each evening; the lure of the historic Barnegat Lighthouse, which stands second highest on the east coast and whose beacon can be seen each night from my porch; the marine traffic of sailboats anchored in Myers hole, kayaks, small vessels or steel hulled fishing boats floating by my house, hauling their catch of fresh fish or passengers eager to go fishing or sightseeing; the incredible variety of seabirds, including egrets, herons, oyster catchers, gulls, ducks and geese just to name a few, and being able to watch their survival behaviors; during the summer the view from my front porches includes concerts, meetings, and weddings in a memorial gazebo located directly in front of the bay; and watching the US Coast Guard Station Barnegat, whose members do exciting drills with helicopters, rescue work and keep our coast safe. Without even leaving my house I have so much entertainment here!

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? I have a passion for wildlife photography and travel which takes me to the far corners of the earth to see and photograph endangered species on every continent.
What is your favorite season and why? I have always loved the December holiday season with my collection of Santas from around the world, candles and magical lights, good will and the giving spirit and gatherings with friends and family.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Help out family and friends, especially one couple who lost their life savings in a Ponzi scam that occurred through an established, big name investment firm!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? ? I would love to learn how to develop and implement educational and political systems to preserve the earth as we know it for future generations.
If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be? ? I would love to see the implementation of an Evacuated Tube Transport system…..New York to Beijing in two hours!?! How great would that be. Seems like something out of the Jetsons, but the patent was issued in 1999 and may actually happen in the future.

What do you love most about your Job? I love meeting and conversing with interesting guests from all over and from all walks of life and striving to provide them the ultimate Long Beach Island experience. This is very rewarding.
What is your Experience and Background in the Travel Industry? During college I was a tour guide in the Pennsylvania Dutch country and a photographer during the evenings at the nearby Host Resort. I learned a lot about dealing with customers. But my experiences, both good and bad, actually traveling around the world has made me more aware of how to treat my guests the way I would like to be treated.
